January Water Utility Payment Plan

As you may know, the City of Jourdanton Accurate Meter Supply smart water meter replacement project is over 98% complete.

In every city that has installed utility smart meters some customers can expect higher than normal utility bills due to:
1) the increased accuracy of electronic readings as compared to an in-person manual read;
2) In some cases, due to utility bill averaging of old and malfunctioning meters; and,
3) low utility bills averaging that may cause larger utility bills for larger homes due to using a city-wide low monthly average water use bill intended to keep bills low pending replacement of the old meters.

While you may see utility workers doing meter rereads, all meters are being electronically read.

If your utility bill is exceptionally higher than normal stop by city hall to receive an explanation of your water use- to the best of our ability.

In the event our utility billing staff can’t fully explain your utility bill to your satisfaction you may schedule another read of your utility meter - over the next 5-8 business days.

In the event you have difficulty paying your utility bill, stop by call or email city hall- 830-769-3589- utilitybilling@jourdantontexas.org so that we can explain to you how register for a (3-12 month, depending on billing history) city payment plan- 830-769-3589- utilitybilling@jourdantontexas.org .
